An early morning accident on Marksheffel Road sends a man to a local hospital by Flight for Life in serious condition. The driver of a green SUV was traveling South on Marksheffel Road when he lost control and hit a tree trapping him in the vehicle.
Colorado Springs Fire Department crews from station 17 responded with their heavy rescue truck to free the trapped and seriously injured man from his vehicle. Firefighters had to remove the entire top of the SUV in order to free the injured driver before sending him to a local hospital by Flight for Life.
Colorado Springs Police say the investigation of the accident is pending any results as to why the driver lost control while driving south on Marksheffel Road. The do say high speeds may have played part in the accident.
