Around 3:00 am Sunday morning, El Paso County Sheriff's Deputies responded the parking lot outside 2648 Shannara Grove, off of Constitution near Marksheffel Road.

Apparently, there had been a fight in the parking lot outside the townhouse complex after a party and that's when shots were fired.

David Nunes, a neighbor, says he and his wife heard people arguing in the parking lot a few hours before the shooting. "By the time we got the kids inside, they took off," he said.

As cops arrived to the shooting scene, two men were taken by friends to Penrose-St. Francis Medical Center's Emergency room with multiple gunshot wounds.

Investigators say when friends and family arrived at the hospital, a fight broke out causing the hospital to go on lock-down until cops arrived.

The two men who were shot are a 26-year-old and a 20-year-old. One was reported to be in critical condition and was flown from St. Francis Medical Center to another unknown hospital due to the severity of his wounds. Lt. Lari Sevene of the El Paso County Sheriffs’s Office did not know the condition of the second victim.

Deputies questioned several people at the scene. Detectives have also recovered several shell casings. There was also blood that covered a large area of the townhome parking lot.

"It's a little crazy," said Nunes. "You don't like to seeing that stuff right in front of your house."

Sheriffs’s office investigators are still looking into who fired the shots. No arrests have been reported at this time. El Paso County Sheriff's Office detectives say they are looking for a late model, white 4-door, possibly a Hyundai Sonata.

Investigators from the El Paso County Sheriff's Office are asking that anyone with information on this shooting, call their dispatch center at 390-5555. You can also remain anonymous and call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.

Do any of you really know what you are talking about? This incident was El Paso County...it didn't fall under the tax initiative we all voted against. And, if you kept up on the outcome, the police department did not cut back! They oddly enough found the money to keep paying Colorado Springs officers. The only reason they want to raise the taxes is because they pad their pockets everytime we give in. Before you complain about what we tax payers are voting for or against, maybe you should take a look at how much money the City officials are getting paid and how much they are doing for us. It might make you think twice about wanting to give them more. Education goes a long way.

I agree with Denny. Just another day in the Springs. If the voters keep voting down initiatives for the police dept. I wouldn't expect it to get any better any time soon.

Our prayers go out to these young men and their families. People need to stop being so indifferent to these sort of things.

Another day, another shooting. Yawn. I think nowadays it's quieter and safer in Denver.
