Around 3:00 am Sunday morning, El Paso County Sheriff's Deputies responded the parking lot outside 2648 Shannara Grove, off of Constitution near Marksheffel Road.
Apparently, there had been a fight in the parking lot outside the townhouse complex after a party and that's when shots were fired.
David Nunes, a neighbor, says he and his wife heard people arguing in the parking lot a few hours before the shooting. "By the time we got the kids inside, they took off," he said.
As cops arrived to the shooting scene, two men were taken by friends to Penrose-St. Francis Medical Center's Emergency room with multiple gunshot wounds.
Investigators say when friends and family arrived at the hospital, a fight broke out causing the hospital to go on lock-down until cops arrived.
The two men who were shot are a 26-year-old and a 20-year-old. One was reported to be in critical condition and was flown from St. Francis Medical Center to another unknown hospital due to the severity of his wounds. Lt. Lari Sevene of the El Paso County Sheriffs’s Office did not know the condition of the second victim.
Deputies questioned several people at the scene. Detectives have also recovered several shell casings. There was also blood that covered a large area of the townhome parking lot.
"It's a little crazy," said Nunes. "You don't like to seeing that stuff right in front of your house."
Sheriffs’s office investigators are still looking into who fired the shots. No arrests have been reported at this time. El Paso County Sheriff's Office detectives say they are looking for a late model, white 4-door, possibly a Hyundai Sonata.
Investigators from the El Paso County Sheriff's Office are asking that anyone with information on this shooting, call their dispatch center at 390-5555. You can also remain anonymous and call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
