Fire fighters are investigating the cause of a house fire that started around 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning at a home on Langmeyer Street, west of 21st Street on the city’s west side.

Four people were inside when the fire started and were able to evacuate the home safely and were evaluated on scene for smoke inhalation. Of the four one was taken to a local hospital for observation and further evaluation.

The basement level of the home was the most severely damaged, but fire crews say the rest of the home also had heavy heat and smoke damage. Fire investigators are on scene to determine the origin and cause of the fire and to determine if the home will be habitable.
