Wood Chipper Falls Off Truck; Fire Halts Traffic

Lanes of I-25 southbound are open again after a fire broke out along the interstate.

State Patrol tells us that a wood chipper fell off the back of a truck. That wood chipper had a fuel leak, and then caught on fire.

The incident halted travel on I-25 near the Circle and South Academy exits for more than an hour Monday morning.

We are working to learn whether or not the driver was cited for the incident. No one was injured.

Additionally, the passenger in the truck was arrested at the scene for warrants unrelated to the traffic incident.
