A woman was taken to the hospital after her car was hit by lightning while she was driving along Highway 115.
It happened around 2 p.m. Wednesday near gate six at Fort Carson.
The strike caused all the side and front air bags to deploy, except the driver's side front air bag. All the car's electrical systems also failed, including the brakes.
The woman's injuries are not considered life-threatening, according to a firefighter at the scene. A passenger was also in the car and was uninjured.
