After snowfall along the I-25 corridor Sunday be on the lookout for slick road conditions tonight and during your Monday morning commute. Some areas picked up several inches of snow through the day and, while additional snowfall is not expected to continue, snow packed and wet roadways will freeze overnight as temperatures drop into the teens. Bundle up and take it slow as you head out on the roads. Click on the 'Weather' tab for more...
Police say a woman in her 20s was shot and killed in an apartment building garage in suburban Denver after an apparent struggle, and a person sought by police after the shooting has been found dead after a standoff with a SWAT team.
The woman has been identified as 25 year-old Emily Weikert. She was found Thursday morning at the Promenade Place Apartments in Greenwood Village near the Denver Tech Center.
KMGH-TV in Denver reports SWAT team officers then went to an apartment looking for 51-year-old Robert Lewis, man described as a person of interest in the shooting.
After a three-hour standoff, they entered to find Lewis dead with a gunshot wound to the head Thursday evening. KMGH reports he was recently fired after allegations he had harassed Weikert at work.
Police have not called Lewis a suspect in Weikert's death, but say he can't be ruled out at this time.
Weikert and Lewis worked at CoBank in Greenwood Village, which specializes in agribusiness lending.
