A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. Several inches of accumulation will be possible in areas where these bands develop. For more information click the ‘Weather’ tab...
A woman who drunkenly wandered into a home in Boulder before the homeowner shot her in the hip has pleaded guilty to first-degree criminal trespassing.
Zoey Ripple's lawyer says Ripple may have been under the influence of a date rape drug when she wandered into the home around 3:30 a.m. May 23.
The Daily Camera reports that after pleading guilty Wednesday, Ripple received a deferred sentence that could result in the felony being stripped from her record if she avoids another conviction in the next 18 months.
The homeowner who shot Ripple wasn't charged. Prosecutors said his actions were justified under Colorado's "Make My Day" law, which allows residents to defend themselves against intruders.
Ripple, who made the dean's list at the University of Colorado, has apologized.
