Woman Killed Crossing I-25

A woman was hit and killed on I-25 Sunday morning after reportedly running across the interstate.

Police say the driver saw the victim cross the road and tried to avoid a collision, but was unable to. The victim died before medical personnel arrived on scene.

The driver voluntarily submitted a blood sample, and police say did not exhibit any signs of intoxication. The driver was jailed for driving without a valid drivers license.

At this time, the victim's identity is unknown. Police are currently working on possible leads to identify her.

The accident occurred on the northbound side of the interstate north of Lincoln Avenue.
