A woman was seriously injured after she was hit by a train in Florence early Friday morning.
Police were alerted just after 3 a.m. When they got to the tracks in the area of Main Street and Church Street, they found a 50-year-old woman badly injured. She had been walking at the time of the collision; police have not released anything further about the circumstances around the incident.
The woman was airlifted to Parkview Hospital in Pueblo. She was in serious condition when she arrived at the hospital; her current condition is not known.
The Florence Police Department and Rock & Rail Railroad are investigating the incident.
