A Canon City woman bonded out of jail Tuesday after being accused of punching a police officer in the face.

Police in Canon City say they were called to an apartment complex Saturday on reports of a disturbance involving two female roommates. When officers arrived, they found suspect Aliina Johnson involved in an argument with her roommate, who was reportedly threatening to hurt herself.

Police split the women up, and were planning to transport both to the hospital in separate ambulances for treatment of minor injuries sustained in the fight. Johnson reportedly became combative after she was told she couldn't ride with her roommate, and allegedly punched an officer in the face.

Johnson has been charged with second-degree assault on a peace officer.
