With bitterly cold weather just hours away, a Black Forest church is opening its doors to residents impacted by fire or flooding who are needing a place to stay.
A temporary shelter will be available at First Baptist Church of Black Forest beginning at 4 p.m. Tuesday through 8 a.m. Wednesday. El Paso County officials say they are currently planning to open the church each night through Friday. The shelter is for Black Forest residents.
At this time, pets will not be permitted.
The church is located at 10915 Black Forest Road.
