Bull Gulch Fire In Fremont County 100% Contained

By  |

Fire crews have completely contained the Bull Gulch Fire.

The fire began burning June 20 nine miles northeast of Cotopaxi in Fremont County. It was started by lightning and burnt brush, piñon, juniper and ponderosa pine forests. The fire was originally believed to be almost the double the 76 acres it turned out to be; it was initially estimated at 150 acres, then downgraded earlier this week.

Several residents were put on pre-evacuation notice the day the fire broke out. Those notices were lifted Saturday. No structures were lost in the fire.
