A man wanted on multiple felony warrants was arrested Saturday in Colorado Springs after police spotted him on the roof of his home in a neighborhood near Nevada Avenue and Austin Bluffs Parkway.

According to Colorado Springs police, officers learned Saturday that Brett Coleman was living at 305 Maplewood Dr. Police believed Coleman had access to guns in the home, and he reportedly said he would have police shoot him rather than go back to jail.

Coleman was wanted on warrants for felony theft, probation violation, and failure to comply as a registered sex offender.

As officers surrounded the area, Coleman was spotted walking back and forth on the roof of the house. Police say before they could move in, Coleman jumped off the roof. He was taken into custody minutes later at gunpoint without incident
