A FLASH FLOOD WATCH remains in effect for all of southern Colorado throughout our evening and overnight on Tuesday. Storms will continue to be an issue, capable of producing heavy rain with very slow movement. Storms look to mainly favor north and east of areas like Colorado Springs and the Waldo Canyon area, but storms cannot be ruled out still in this area. The 11 Breaking Weather team will be monitoring conditions closely. This Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through 6pm Wednesday, where another day of thunderstorms is possible. A man wanted on multiple felony warrants was arrested Saturday in Colorado Springs after police spotted him on the roof of his home in a neighborhood near Nevada Avenue and Austin Bluffs Parkway.
According to Colorado Springs police, officers learned Saturday that Brett Coleman was living at 305 Maplewood Dr. Police believed Coleman had access to guns in the home, and he reportedly said he would have police shoot him rather than go back to jail.
Coleman was wanted on warrants for felony theft, probation violation, and failure to comply as a registered sex offender.
As officers surrounded the area, Coleman was spotted walking back and forth on the roof of the house. Police say before they could move in, Coleman jumped off the roof. He was taken into custody minutes later at gunpoint without incident
