A suspect in an assault was arrested at a Fountain Walmart Thursday night due to the victim's quick thinking, Springs police say.
According to police, suspect Nicholas Harris, 24, repeatedly strangled the victim during an argument, while threatening to kill her. The victim eventually convinced Harris to go to the store; once he left, she called police and notified them where Harris would be.
Springs and Fountain police found Harris at the Walmart, exactly where the victim said he would be. Harris was arrested on charges of attempted second-degree murder, second-degree assault, false imprisonment, and child abuse.
Springs police were involved due to the fight occurring on the 3300 block of Quail Lake Road in Colorado Springs.
