Locally heavy rain will remain possible overnight, with any showers and storms. Areas likely to see additional heavy rain will likely be east of I-25 and along HWY 50 from Canon City eastward. Crews responded to a reported vehicle vs pedestrian crash Monday morning on westbound E Las Vegas Street east of S. Nevada Ave. in Colorado Springs.
Emergency vehicles blocked the eastbound lanes on Las Vegas while they responded.
The call came in around 7:00 a.m. that a person and dog were hit.
Police say one person was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. An officer said the Humane Society picked up the dog, because it was acting aggressively.
The intersection was reopened around 7:20 a.m.
In Fountain, fire crews responded to another reported vehicle vs. pedestrian accident on 100 block Cherry Circle, which is a residential street.
The road was blocked off for a short time while emergency crews responded. We're told after crews got when they arrived, they found the person was not hit, but needed some sort of medical assistance.
