Authorities are seeking any information that can lead to the apprehension of those responsible for thousands of dollars of vandalism at a state park.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife says someone fired more than two dozen 9 mm rounds at the north and east entrance stations at Lake Pueblo State Park sometime between 11 p.m. April 11 and 5 a.m. April 12.
"We believe somewhere between 25 - 30 rounds were fired into the buildings," said Park Manager Brad Henley. "Luckily, no one was in them at the time."
Park officials say the cost to repair the electronic variable message sign is $7,000 by itself. Damages to windows, signs and the buildings' finishes raises the total damages to more than $10,000.
