As rain and snow pulls away from the I-25 Corridor this morning, our main concern is fog, which could be dense in spots through the morning commute. Roads are of lesser concern, as most should simply be wet. However, secondary roads and any bridges and overpasses away from city warmth could be a bit slick, so please be careful. Sheriff's deputies and Springs police officers swarmed the Cimarron Hills area after a robbery at a hotel Thursday night.
Two suspects walked into the Econo Lodge at the corner of Platte and Peterson just before 8 p.m. and robbed the hotel clerk. One of the men told the clerk he was armed, but never showed a weapon.
Afterwards, the men took off running through the Sand Creek Golf Course and got away from the area.
Authorities brought their K-9 units to the scene to search for the suspects, but after searching for two hours nothing turned up.
Law enforcement didn't get a good description of the men, just that they were last seen wearing all black. They reportedly stole a number of "personal items," but the El Paso County Sheriff's Office didn't say what those items were.
