A couple was held up at gunpoint while pumping gas at a Circle K in Colorado Springs early Sunday morning.

Police received the call shortly after 2 a.m. The victim told police that while her husband was pumping gas at the gas station near I-25 and Circle, a couple approached her in their car. The female passenger asked to borrow her cell phone. After making her call, the couple in the car tried to take off with the phone.

The victim says she fought with the passenger to get her phone back. While the two struggled, the driver took cash out of her jacket pocket. The man behind the wheel then pulled out a handgun and pointed at the victim’s head.

The victim was able to give police a detailed description of the two in the car, as well as the license plate number.

The two were spotted near the intersection of Fountain Boulevard and Circle Drive. Police arrested the pair and conducted a thorough search of the car.

“A realistic CO2 gun was located in the vehicle,” Lieutenant Santos of the Colorado Springs Police Department said in a statement. “As well as other items linking the suspects to the crime.”

Forty-nine-year-old Hiram Church and 32-year-old Deja Moss are now facing aggravated robbery charges and have been taken to the Criminal Justice Center.
