A homeowner awoke Thursday morning to his room in slight disarray.
"I woke up to...the lamp being on the floor, and then our cable was out so I looked behind the TV and saw that the picture was on the ground," Floyd Wellsheldermen said.
But Wellsheldermen never dreamed it would be because a truck hit his home.
"I looked up and saw the truck right outside my house...I see this stuff on the news all the time, but I never thought that it would happen to my house!"
Wellsheldermen said he immediately went outside to check on the driver, but no one was there.
The crash was reported around 8:45 a.m. Thursday on the 2000 block of King Street in west Colorado Springs. Responding officers determined that the truck had a bad emergency brake, causing it to roll down the hill and hit the house.
The driver reportedly did not have insurance, so police ended up impounding the vehicle.
