Two people have serious injuries after an early morning crash, believed to be caused by drinking and driving.

Colorado State Patrol says that the driver lost control of his vehicle and went off the road, colliding with a tree. The force of impact caused the vehicle to go airborne before landing and rolling. The car ended up on its top.

Both people in the car were transported to Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo. The driver has been identified as 24-year-old Shawn Skinner and the passenger has been identified as 23-year-old Shanda Skinner. Both are from Ordway.

Troopers say the crash remains under investigation, but that alcohol played a role.

The crash happened around 6 a.m. on Crowley County Road F, less than a mile east of County Road 10.
