Three people are dead after a head-on crash in southwestern Colorado and a fourth person is in critical condition.
The accident happened on Highway 160 three miles west of Del Norte in Rio Grande County. That is northwest of Alamosa in southwestern Colorado.
State Patrol says a 2001 Porsche was going east on the highway and hydroplaned. It spun out of control and went into the westbound lane, hitting an oncoming Nissan SUV. Both people in Porsche were killed, as was the driver of the Nissan. The Nissan's passenger was flown to a Denver area hospital with critical injuries.
Roads were very wet in the area at the time of the crash. State Patrol is investigating whether speed could be a factor in the crash.
The names of those killed in the crash have not been released.
