As temperatures hover around the 0 degree mark Tuesday morning, thousands are waking up without power thanks to vandals.

Colorado Springs Utilities says one of their substations was vandalized early Tuesday morning, resulting in the loss of power for 3,375 customers in the Platte and Circle area.

CSU got the call around 4:27 a.m.

A spokesperson with the utility company says workers don't expect repairs to take long, but the response time took longer than usual due to the icy road conditions.

Power was restored to all customers by 5:45 a.m.

We are still working to get more information on the nature of the vandalism.
