A local teenage girl faces serious charges after police say she led them on a chase in Colorado Springs.

It started at the intersection of Winters and Nevada Tuesday afternoon when police say the girl ran a red light.

Instead of stopping for police, they say the 16-year-old sped off.

They caught up with her, but when an officer got out of his car, she left again and nearly hit him.

The girl eventually crashed her car on Garden Of The Gods Road, sustaining minor injuries. She now faces several charges.
