School Employee Accused Of Inappropriate Relationship With Student

Charges have been filed against an employee at a Colorado Springs high school after an investigation revealed he allegedly had an inappropriate relationship with a student.

According to Colorado Springs police, Benjamin Wilkerson was arrested on February 18 and charged with sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust. As of 3 a.m. on Wednesday, he was still incarcerated at the El Paso County Jail. He's scheduled to be advised of the charges Wednesday.

The district says Wilkerson is an "educational assistant" at the school.

Police tell 11 News they were contacted by a Coronado High School resource officer Tuesday on reports of a possible inappropriate relationship between a student and an employee.

An investigation commenced and police took Wilkerson into custody. His picture is not available at this time.
