After a mild Saturday, temperatures to finish the weekend will be MUCH colder! A system to our west pushes into SE Colorado overnight. Snow showers will be possible by early Sunday morning across the I-25 corridor with a change to rain and snow showers through the afternoon. Accumulation should be minimal as most moisture looks to be light and temperatures will warm into the upper 30s and 40s through the afternoon. No one was hurt during a drive by shootings, but police say they are still looking for the suspect and victim of the alleged crime.
It happened around 5:50 p.m. July 19 on the 1400 block of Alvarado Drive in Colorado Springs. That's near East Fountain Blvd. and South Academy Blvd. on the southeast side of the city.
Witnesses tell police they heard two shots fired. The suspect was described as a Hispanic man, 20-25 years old, 6'0" tall, 210-220 lbs with brown spiky hair.
Witnesses say the suspect fired the shots at a passing vehicle.
One witness said the suspect then got into a blue Honda Civic and left the scene.
Police say no injuries because of the shooting have been reported.
Officers say they are following up leads in the investigation.
