A suspect tried to flee police Tuesday night--but didn't get very far.
Police say the 68-year-old suspect tried running after his vehicle got stuck on a retaining wall, but was caught just a few yards away.
A Springs officer was already on the suspect's tail, having spotted a stolen license plate on the car as it traveled in the area of Academy and Airport. The officer tried to pull the suspect over, but says the suspect refused to stop.
The officer followed the suspect vehicle into Camelot Apartments, where the car got stuck.
Gilbert Martinez was arrested on several charges, including vehicular eluding and theft by receiving. Police say the 1993 black Olds Bravada Martinez was driving had been reported stolen on March 14.
