A man will spend the rest of his life in prison for mutilating and murdering 20-year-old William Mickle two years ago.

Mickle's body was found near the Pikes Peak Greenway trail around I-25 and the MLK Bypass in August 2011. He had been hacked to death with a hatchet, sustaining more than 20 chop wounds to the face.

Suspect Jordan Rowland, who was 19 at the time, was later found with the victim's severed finger in his pocket.

Rowland was found guilty of first-degree murder earlier this month. Thursday, he was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

A jury also found Roger Glover guilty of first-degree murder for Mickle's death in November of last year.
