Teen Identified as Suspect in Springs Double Murder

Colorado Springs Police have identified a suspect in the murder of a Fort Carson Soldier and his wife.

Police say Macyo Joelle January, 17, broke into the home of David Dunlap, 37, and Whitney Butler, 35, on Bassett Dr. in Colorado Springs Monday afternoon. Police say January then shot and killed the two homeowners.

A warrant for 1st Degree Murder has been issued for the arrest of January. He is described as a black male, 5’5”, a thin build and black hair with a scar near his right eye.
