A disturbance at a bank escalated into a potential bomb scare at a Springs bank.

According to police, officers were called to the Wells Fargo at Circle and Platte on reports of a man yelling at a bank manager. As police were heading to the scene, they came across the suspect at nearby Platte and Chelton. Police say he got in a fight with officers, then threw his bag on the ground and ran.

Police were forced to call their explosives unit to the scene because they did not know what was in the bag. The contents of the bag were determined to be harmless.

The suspect is described as a man in his 30s, 5-foot-11 and medium build, bald. He left the scene in a black Nissan Armada. If you have any information on his whereabouts, call police 444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
