Police: Suspect Crashes Stolen Car Into Garage

It was a frightening moment for one Springs woman when a police chase ended at her doorstep.

Police say the suspect crashed a stolen car into the woman's garage.

The woman told 11 News she was inside when she heard a loud crash. When she ran outside to check it out, she was greeted to the alarming sight of several flashing police lights in front of her home.

The suspect tried running off after crashing, and was found a short time later in a nearby backyard.

Police tell 11 News the incident started around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday after an officer spotted a suspicious vehicle near Platte and Chelton. When the officer tried to pull the driver over, he took off, making it a little more than a mile before crashing into the garage.

The woman said it was a scary situation, and luckily no one got hurt.

Police arrested Jacob Arvik. He is facing several charges, including vehicle theft and eluding.
