Due to overnight showers, watch for wet pavement and in some cases, standing water, on roadways as you head out this morning. We'll get a brief break around the midday, with thunderstorms redeveloping by the afternoon. Some showers will contain small hail, lightning, and even breezy conditions. We'll be monitoring burn scars for any brief, heavy rain to develop and situate over a vulnerable area. Head over to the "Weather" tab for a full look at the week's forecast.
Almost two months after discovering a body underneath an overpass in Colorado Springs, a man has been arrested for murder.
Walter Joe Martin, 36, was taken into custody Thursday afternoon.
The 36-year-old Colorado Springs man is charged with second-degree murder for the death of Timothy Jordan, whose body was found underneath the I-25 and Cimarron overpass in late January.
According to police, an anonymous tip led to the discovery of Jordan's body on Jan. 28. The body was found near the creek bed under the northbound on-ramp, showing obvious signs of trauma. The death was later ruled a homicide.
Police obtained an arrest warrant for Martin Thursday. Details about what led to the identification of Martin as a suspect have not been released at this time.
If you have any information that could further assist police with this investigation, you are asked to call police at 444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
