Jaacob Vanwinkle, the man accused of killing a Cañon City woman and her two children, was formally charged in court Thursday.
The charges Vanwinkle is facing include: first-degree murder, child abuse resulting in death, kidnapping, assault, sexual assault, sexual assault on a child, crimes of violence and habitual sexual offender against children.
Police say Vanwinkle is responsible for the deaths of 35-year-old Mandy Folsom and her two young children, Marissa and Mason.
Vanwinkle is a convicted child molester from a 2004 case.
In 2006 he was released to probation more than two years early.
The Fremont County Sheriff's Office tells 11 News they were in the process of issuing an arrest warrant for Vanwinkle in Cañon City for failure to re-register as a sex offender on March 4.
