A man was arrested after he allegedly tried to break into a home armed with a shotgun.

The suspect, identified as Michael Cross, reportedly told police he thought an assault was happening inside the home, and was trying to intervene.

The victim says Cross pointed the shotgun him as he was trying to get into the house. He apparently got the gun away from Cross and then pinned him down until police got there.

No one in the home was hurt.

The incident happened on the 4100 block of Tulip Way in Colorado Springs.

Police say alcohol was a factor in the incident.
