Suicide Bombers Kill 65 in Iraq

BAGHDAD (AP) -- Iraqi police say at least 54 people have been killed and more than 70 wounded in an attack on a funeral in a Shiite part of Baghdad.

Police say a suicide bomber blew up a car packed with explosives near a crowded funeral tent, and a second bomber on foot blew himself up nearby.

It's the deadliest attack in a day of violence that has claimed at least 65 lives.

The strikes are the latest in a months-long surge of violence that is raising fears Iraq is slipping back toward the widespread sectarian killings that followed the 2003 U.S.-led invasion a decade ago.
