An apartment building was evacuated in the early morning hours Wednesday due to a fire on a third-floor balcony.

The fire was first reported around 5 a.m. at the Aviator Apartments on the 1600 block of North Murray. CSFD confirmed at 6 a.m. that it was extinguished.

A spokesperson with CSFD says it is believed that a potted plant or tree caught fire, possibly due to a cigarette. Investigators have not yet confirmed that was the cause.

There were no injuries to anyone at the complex.

Murray is closed between San Miguel and Constitution while crews are on scene.
