Thanks to the generosity of a church group, little Aila will have gifts under her tree.

A local family targeted by thieves got a surprise donation on Monday night.

Criminals reportedly took off with their car over the weekend--and all of their daughter’s Christmas presents they hid in the trunk.

Catherine Balboa was overcome with emotion when a stranger gave her a Walmart gift card to help put presents back under the tree.

“I immediately broke down in tears. You feel horrible when something like this happens but then you feel so amazing when you find out there's complete strangers willing to help so much,” Balboa explained.

Pastor Dean Hawk of Rock Family Church in Colorado Springs saw Balboa’s story on 11 News Sunday night and felt compelled to help.

"I’m just honored to be a part of their Christmas and that we could help out. That's what life is all about, lending a helping hand,” Pastor Dean said.

Balboa plans to buy her daughter a few toys with the money and then continue the act of kindness for others.

“We are going to pick up extra toys and donate them for Toys For Tots and really pay it forward."

The Balboas tell 11 News they haven't received any tips about their stolen car. If you know anything about the stolen car call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
