For the second time in two days, authorities say the survivor of a fatal crash fled the scene, leaving the victim behind.

Authorities say the person of interest in the crash, identified as 25-year-old Tyler Spinuzzi of Pueblo, turned himself in Sunday. He has not been formally arrested at last report from State Patrol. State Patrol says they are still trying to determine who the driver was.

According to State Patrol, a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado crashed into a tree on Highway 12 outside the town of Cuchara in Huerfano County. The crash happened around 11:15 p.m. Saturday.

According to State Patrol, the Silverado was the only vehicle involved in the crash. Based on the investigation, troopers say the truck was headed eastbound on Highway 12 when it went off the road, struck a tree and then rolled onto its roof. The passenger, 25-year-old Ambre Cassio of Pueblo, was killed. State Patrol says she was not wearing a seat belt.

Authorities say alcohol is a suspected factor in the crash.
