Rain and snow will wind down for Southern Colorado late this afternoon and early evening. The main focus for heavier rain and snow will shift farther north leaving Southern Colorado much drier tonight than this morning. A woman from Aurora died in Park County Saturday after a motorcycle crash along Highway 9.
According to State Patrol, who are investigating the crash, the accident happened about 30 miles northwest of Canon City.
Reports indicate that the drier, Diana Ewert, 60, of Aurora, was traveling northbound on Colorado 9 near milepost 20 in her 2005 Yamaha V-Star when she failed to negotiate a curve. Ewert went off the right hand side of the road while negotiating a left-hand curve.
The motorcycle reportedly rolled and ejected Ewert, She was wearing a helmet and eye protection at the time of the crash.
Police say alcohol, drugs and speed were not a factor. The crash remains under investigation.
