Many in the Springs are doing their part to help those ravaged by a typhoon in their home country.
More than 1,000 people died as a result of the typhoon Sendong last month, and the flash floods and landslides that followed.
The group, known as the Filipino-American Community of Southern Colorado, has been collecting money and just sent off a check for more than $4,000 for typhoon relief.
There are also bins for in-kind donations set up at several businesses in Colorado Springs. The contributions will be shipped to the disaster zone.
