Southern Colorado Woman Convicted of Animal Cruelty

A southern Colorado woman has been convicted of 22 counts of animal cruelty.

Animal enforcement agents took more than 60 animals in January 2012 from Valerie Christine Harris' farm in east of Pueblo.

Authorities began to investigate after reports of a dead horse on her property. They got a warrant and seized almost 30 horses and 30 plus dogs.

Harris was convicted Tuesday of aggravated animal cruelty and animal cruelty.
