Sky Sox Security Service Field To Be Smoke-Free

As of their season opener on Thursday, April 4, the Colorado Springs Sky Sox says their facilities will be smoke-free.

All areas inside the stadium gates at Security Service Field will be designated as non-smoking and the policy will remain in place for all events in the stadium -- including games, concerts, functions and any other events.

Smoking had previously been allowed in certain areas inside the stadium. The Sky Sox say that guests can still smoke outside the stadium gates, and will be given a hand stamp to allow them to easily go in and out.

“The trend in Colorado Springs and across the country is to provide a smoke-free environment, and feedback we’ve received from our fans suggests that the majority now prefer this type of experience,” said Tony Ensor, President and General Manager of the Sky Sox.

“The decision was made easier by considering the overwhelming evidence of the negative health effects of smoking and secondhand smoke.”
