Roads are icy in spots that saw accumulating snow yesterday. Allow yourself plenty of extra time this morning and dress warmly, as wind chills are in the single digits and teens for many. A second disturbance will bring another round of snow showers to the Front Range this afternoon and early evening. While not as heavy as yesterday, some additional light accumulations over the higher terrain will be possible, including Teller and Northern El Paso Counties. Occupants in two vehicles reportedly opened fire on each other in a parking lot early Wednesday morning.
Based on witness accounts of the incident, police are now trying to find the suspects involved.
Witnesses told Springs police that the incident happened around 2 a.m. in a parking lot near the Citadel Mall. Officers later found several shell casings in a parking lot at a strip mall on the 3600 block of Citadel Drive North.
Both vehicles have been described as small, dark-colored "sporty" cars. Witnesses described one of the suspects as a Hispanic male; there is no further suspect information available at this time.
