A FLASH FLOOD WATCH will go into effect on Tuesday afternoon for most of Southern Colorado. Daytime heating and moisture will combine with a disturbance moving through Colorado to develop numerous thunderstorms. Any one of them will be more than capable of producing very heavy rain. Burn scars and areas that have seen recent heavy rain will be under the greatest risk for flash flooding. The 11 Breaking Weather Team will be tracking this threat all day for you.
Police are looking for a suspect who followed his victim inside an apartment building and fired two shots.
The incident happened around midnight Saturday at the El Vecino apartments in Colorado Springs. The area is on the 1800 block of Monterey Rd. not far from S. Circle Dr. and Hancock Expressway.
The victim told police he was walking to one of the buildings when a suspect with a gun confronted him. Once inside the building, the victim told police the suspect fired two shots and ran away.
No one was hurt.
Officers searched the area, but didn't find the suspect. He is described as a white man, 5'11" tall with an average build. He has blond hair that was short or shaved on the sides. He was wearing a white t-shirt, jeans and dark tennis shoes at the time.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
