Police are investigating whether a shooting at a Springs apartment complex was random or with a target in mind.

Numerous residents at the Cedar Crest Apartments on Carmel Drive called police after hearing gunfire in the area shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday. Responding officers found several shell casings on the street, then after walking through the complex discovered two bullet holes in the wall of a third-floor apartment.

No one was inside.

Police interviewed several residents to see if anyone knew of a resident that could have been targeted, but no one had any information.

The incident remains under investigation.
