Lanes of eastbound highway 50 near Pueblo are blocked at 36th Lane, due to a fatal rollover crash.
All eastbound traffic is being diverted between 36th and 41st while the investigation is completed and the scene is cleaned up.
A single 2004 Chevrolet pickup truck was involved in this crash. Investigators believe that the driver was not paying adequate attention while driving eastbound and swerved into the shoulder to dodge around a slower vehicle. The driver over-corrected and the pickup rolled.
Amanda White, 39, of Fountain, was ejected and killed in the rollover. Thomas Encinias, 45, of Rocky Ford, was seriously injured and flown to Parkview Hospital. Neither were wearing seat belts.
Speed, drugs and alcohol are not considered to be factors in this crash. The cause is likely inattentive driving.
The crash threw some debris over the median, and one westbound lane was closed for a short time. The pickup remained upside down on the eastbound side and needed to be towed away.
