It's just a signature away from becoming law - that's new restrictions on how much ammunition a magazine can hold.

State lawmakers have passed the bill that limits ammunition magazines to 15 rounds.

Governor Hickenlooper said he plans to sign it.

He legislature is still debating several other measures related to gun control.

We're keeping track of those measures and will let you know what happens.

Meanwhile, a federal ban on assault style weapons and ammunition clips is moving forward in the senate.

The controversial ban was approved today by a senate committee in a narrow vote.

The fate of the measure is uncertain. Lawmakers may not have the votes needed to pass the bill.

It will ban 157 different gun models and ammunition magazines containing more than 10 bullets.
