Second Arrest Made In Connection To Double Murder

A second arrest has been made in connection to the murder of a Colorado Springs couple. The primary suspect, Macyo January, was arrested and taken into custody Thursday night.

Investigators told us the second arrest came after they took January into custody. Jerel Couch, 19, is facing charges of accessory to 1st degree murder because he's accused of harboring a fugitive.

Colorado Springs police arrested Macyo January Thursday evening. He was found at a residence in the 3900 block of E. Bijou Street and taken into custody without incident. Only 11 News was there.
Wednesday night, investigators obtained an arrest warrant for 1st degree Murder for 17 year old, Macyo Joelle January.

January was considered armed and dangerous following the murders of 37 year old Fort Carson soldier, David Dunlap and his wife, 35 year old Whitney Butler. Both were shot to death as they entered their home during a burglary in progress on Monday.

As with every death investigation, detectives worked around the clock actively seeking critical information, checking every tip and pursuing every lead.

Their exhaustive efforts resulted in the arrest of Macyo January earlier this evening. He was found at a residence in the 3900 block of E. Bijou Street and taken into custody without incident.

We're told in addition to January and Couch, three others were arrested on unrelated misdemeanor charges at the same apartment complex.

Police tell us Eric Wilson, 21, was arrested on unrelated domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Christopher Cobb, 24, was picked up on an unrelated misdemeanor traffic warrant, and they also arrested a 17-year-old juvenile for an unrelated shoplifting incident.
