Woman Accused Of Starting Fire In Ex-Boyfriend's Home Arrested

A woman is being held without bond after allegedly assaulting her ex-boyfriend, then starting a fire in the basement of his home.

According to Springs police, it started when the suspect, identified as Caja Gray, tried to break into her ex's home on the 900 block of W. Cucharras late Saturday night. Police say Gray had lived there while she and the victim were dating.

When Gray couldn't get into the home, police say she assaulted her former boyfriend. He then reportedly ran to get help as Gray started a fire in the basement. Responding police officers say they used a garden hose on the fire until firefighters arrived.

The victim was the only person at the home during the incident.

Police located Gray Sunday evening and arrested her on charges of domestic violence-related arson, burglary and assault. She is currently in custody at the Criminal Justice Center.
