Why The Video Looks Shaky (Don Ward)
Updated: 06/18/2013 - We did a quick helicopter tour of the Black Forest burn area. Someone asked why the video looks shaky.
The scene was all too familiar to employees at a southwest side Subway: a man entered the restaurant and handed the cashier a note demanding money. After receiving cash, he vanished from the area before police could get to the scene.
The robbery occurred around 9:30 p.m. at the Subway in the Cheyenne Mountain Center, located at Lake and Cheyenne Mountain Boulevard near I-25 in Colorado Springs.
The clerk, who was alone in the store, was threatened with a knife, but ultimately left unharmed.
Less than two months ago, the same Subway was robbed in a similar manner. The suspect was never located. It's unknown at this time if the two robberies are related.
Police describe the suspect in the latest robbery as a white male in his late 20s or early 30s, 5-foot-10 with a medium build, dirty-looking brown hair. He was wearing dark clothing: a brown short-sleeved jacket, black jeans, black shoes, green gloves and sunglasses. He was reportedly carrying a three to six-inch knife.
Anyone with information on this crime is asked to call police at 444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
