A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. Springs police are working to get surveillance video after a robbery at a Sonic Drive-In restaurant.
It happened Tuesday night at the Sonic on 8th street, near Cimmaron on the south-west side of the Springs.
The victim told police he was in his car eating when two men walked up to his window. Police say that's when one of the susepcts pulled a gun on the victim and demanded money.
When the victim told them he didn't have any, police say the other suspect opened the car door and took the victim's cell phone. One of the suspects then allegedly punched the victim before they both took off.
Police searched the area with dogs but were unable to find the suspects. They are described as two black men with medium builds wearing dark clothing.
